Europe has recently experienced an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 40°C in several countries, including France, Germany, and the Czech Republic. The prolonged extreme heat has not only disrupted daily life but also placed significant pressure on healthcare systems and public services. In response, the French government has placed an urgent order for 30,000 air conditioners to equip hospitals and other public facilities.

Meanwhile, demand for cooling equipment across Europe has risen sharply. With air conditioner penetration in residential buildings estimated at only 20%, combined with aging building infrastructure, high installation costs, and complex approval procedures, the market is increasingly seeking energy-efficient and easy-to-install cooling solutions.

Chinese HVAC manufacturers have emerged as major beneficiaries of this growing demand. Midea's PortaSplit portable split air conditioner has gained strong market traction in Germany, France, and Spain thanks to its drill-free, easy-installation design, with some sales channels reporting temporary stock shortages. At the same time, Chinese brands including Gree, Hisense, and Haier have also recorded significant sales growth across the European market.

As climate change continues to intensify, Europe's cooling demand is gradually shifting from seasonal to long-term growth. Residential, commercial, and public-sector projects are placing greater emphasis on high-efficiency, sustainable, and intelligent cooling solutions. The European market is expected to present expanding procurement opportunities, while innovative HVAC technologies featuring high energy efficiency, low-carbon performance, and simplified installation are likely to play an increasingly important role in future market development, creating new opportunities for Chinese HVAC enterprises to strengthen their global presence.
